In this 2-week-long project, your students will go on a deep exploration of a chosen famous Hispanic American. They’ll research, put a presentation together, present, and write an essay about the person of their choice.

This product covers the following standards: 

The student engages in both short-term and sustained recursive inquiry processes

  • Locate relevant resources

  • Examine sources for credibility

  • Take notes

  • Cite resources

  • Give a presentation using language effectively

  • Compose informational texts

  • Revise drafts

  • Publish written work for appropriate audiences

Students will research:

  • Early Life: Childhood, family background, and early experiences that shaped their character.

  • Significant Achievements: Most notable accomplishments or contributions.

  • Challenges and Obstacles faced throughout their life and how they overcame them.

  • Impact on Society: Culture, policy, or social movements.

  • Recognition and awards, honors, or recognitions received

  • Role in Social Movements

  • Educational Background, including any notable institutions attended and degrees earned.

  • Notable Quotes highlighting key philosophies or perspectives they expressed.
